Scouts - CycloCross 2011

The 28th Annual Surrey Scouts CycloCross was held on Sunday 20^th March 2011 in the glorious spring sunshine of Ranmore Wood in Dorking. Di and the team from Surrey Scout Radio put on another well organised and executed event, changing the course slightly this year to make it a little more challenging with some nasty corner added for good effect! 

This year’s event was the best attended since its start and had a 91% attendance from those who said they were coming which is a great testimony to the organising team. 

This year saw Scouts taking part from across the County, split into under 12’s, under 13’s, under 14’s and two explorer races. 

30th Reigate fielded 10 entries which is our largest contingent to date. The overall field was in my opinion the best I have seen in the three years I have been watching and everybody seems to be taking it much more seriously, which makes our results even more impressive.

All of the boys gave a great account of themselves in tough competition and cheered on their teammates with enthusiasm-   the addition of some gongs finished off what was a very enjoyable morning.
