Explorers have their cake and eat it - May 2009 |
|
It's been known for some time that the only people worse than toddlers for making a sticky mess are teenagers. One tuesday evening, our Explorers tried their hand at cake decorating. Ably instructed my Mrs Sears (Mark's mum), the explorers were given instruction in the art of preparing a cake, icing, colouring, decorating and hand crafting decorations. Working in small teams the explorers then went on the create their own constructions - with some excellent productions created.
For a second course of dessert, the explorers went on to making what can only be described as warm chocolate sundaes. With chocolate, custard, biscuits and pretty much anything they could lay their hands on going into a cup in layers; we can only hope that some of them tasted better than they looked.
Registered users can see photos of the decorating in action and some of the end results in the Explorers Gallery. |

Two intrepid teams of Explorers from the 30th took part in the annual district Great Escape competition. Facing insurmountable odds, uncertain weather, fiendishly difficult challenges, tricky navigation and a hoard of leaders bend on wreaking revenge armed with flour bombs - the team shone over the weekend demonstrating resiliance, determination and showing fantastic team spirit.
A gallery of photos is available to registered users in the Explorers part of the site. |
